"This is an overwhelmingly important addition to a primary care clinician's library as both an update and a reference. The graphics are superb. The manner in which the evidence is presented gives clinicians the ability to find what they are looking for, with the confidence that this series will continue to bring together the best evidence in one monograph." Weighted Numerical Score of 99 out of 100 -- 5 Stars! --Vincent F Carr, DO, MSA, FACC, FACP (Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences) for Doody's Review Service. September 2015.

“This is a book full of detailed answers to the common clinical questions arising in Type 2 diabetes. Type II Diabetes Mellitus - A Multidisciplinary Approach sets out the current evidence base for the management of the condition, from foot disease through to cardiovascular risk. It will be of particular interest to those who have to deal with a wide range of clinical situations in Type 2 diabetes. The level of detail is probably beyond that needed for non-specialists, but some sections, such as that on treating neuropathy, may have wider appeal.

Each chapter stands independently, so it is very easy to dip in and out of this book as needed. Another plus point is its focus on clinical situations and its application of basic science to clinical dilemmas, while providing detailed references to read further if you wish. However, one of the downsides of this book, for the UK reader, is its use of American nomenclature and laboratory measures which can make it hard to ‘translate’ some sections for those unused to handling these values. There is also some crossover of information and repetition which, if reduced, could have made some of the longer chapters easier to read. Each chapter is written as a narrative text with some chapters, such as the one about diabetic neuropathy, making good use of pictures and diagrams to summarize information.

In conclusion, I would recommend this book as a perfect compact reference texted when it comes to managing common clinical problems seen in the diabetes clinic.” –Reviewed by Dr. Adam Nicholls for Diabetes Update, Summer 2015
